About

This blog endeavors to take a closer look at 1079 students in the Washington State University system. Through examining policies concerning 1079 students, gaging public awareness and scrutinizing ongoing media coverage, I hope this blog will provide a greater understanding of the challenges facing 1079 students.

Additionally, this blog should function as a “go-to” resource about 1079 students, 1079 financial aid development and on-going legislation and efforts concerning 1079 students in Washington State.

If you have thoughts or stories concerning 1079 students that you would like to contribute to this blog, please e-mail them to jacob.schmidt@email.wsu.edu.

  1. Hi, I am working with the social work immigration alliance (SWIA) at UW. We attended your conference in July and were wondering how or if we could access your video to share with our cohort members to generate awareness about immigration issues. We were also discussing creating a brochure or information packet for HB1079 students and/or UW administrative staff to raise awareness about resources and the policy itself. Perhaps, you already have one created that we can use instead of trying to reinvent the wheel 🙂 Thank you for all of the work that you do!

  2. Hi Linnea! Thanks for your interest and the work you are doing with SWIA. I am now following your SWIA blog and have added it to this site’s blogroll as well. This blog is actually ran independently from the Washington State Educational Access Coalition. However, I do know they have packets made for 1079 students and a variety of other resources. The best person to get in contact with regarding this is Marcella Pattinson. She heads up the coalition and will be more than happy to provide you with the videos and information if you let her know this blog referred you 🙂 You can reach her at marcela.pattinson@wsu.edu Hope this helps!
